Iron Maiden: The X Factor

I picked this album up from a charity shop this week. I didn’t even recognise it as an Iron Maiden album, probably because it is the first album Maiden did with a new vocalist Blaze Bailey rather than Bruce Dickinson. While still recognisably Iron Maiden due to the bass and guitar work, Blaze does a good job but is not as distinctive a vocalist as Bruce Dickinson. The songs are not bad, a bit sparse perhaps, but it doesn’t compete with their best work. Not a bad buy from a charity shop though, I don’t regret my purchase.
